Video Meetings
When the LiveKit integration is installed, meetings hosted from Odoo run right in the browser, and people without an Odoo account can join too.
Join a meeting
You join a meeting through its link — there is nothing to install:
- Open the meeting link you received (or click Join Meeting on the room form if you have access to it).
- Type a display name if asked; no account or password is needed for guests.
- Grant the browser access to your microphone and camera when asked.
In the meeting
- Use the on-screen buttons to mute, turn the camera off/on, and leave.
Meeting links
Each room has a Public URL. Anyone with the link — colleagues or external participants — can open it and join. The link is unique and unguessable, so treat it like the meeting key.
Setting up a meeting (administrators)
Creating rooms is an administrator task. A Connect admin goes to Connect > LiveKit > Rooms and creates a room (or uses the New LiveKit Meeting action on a contact), gives it a subject and, if a recording is wanted, ticks Record Meeting. The admin then shares the room's Public URL with the participants.
Recordings
If Record Meeting was enabled, the recording appears under Connect > Recordings shortly after the meeting ends. When transcription is turned on for your workspace, the recording is transcribed and summarized automatically.
Notes
- Meetings are audio + video in the browser; nothing to install.
- The organizer can end the meeting for everyone with Close Room on the room form.
- If you don't see the LiveKit menu, that is expected — meeting administration is limited to Connect admins, but meeting links work for anyone you share them with.
